Mince your words with Jennene Plummer

Food Director, Woman's Day Magazine

So you've bought your tasty turkey mince and are now wondering how to use it. We asked Jennene Plummer for her thoughts on turkey mince.

What do you like about turkey mince?

Turkey mince is a recent discovery for me and I have found it to be flavoursome, lean and moist. It is extremely easy to use and is a great alternative for a quick weekday meal. It also freezes very well.

What is your favourite way to use turkey mince?

I am still experimenting with turkey mince, but it has worked very well every way I have used it, whether it has been in burgers, meatballs, patties, meatloaf, bolognaise, savoury mince, lasagne, Mexican dishes and so on. I have found that it can replace regular beef mince with ease and provides a fabulous flavour change.

What are some other ways to cook turkey mince?

It works very well in Asian dishes - Chow Mein, dumplings (steamed or simmered in soup), in casseroles, stuffing for vegetables or poultry, pies - the list is endless. I will keep on experimenting. It is really good to have another mince to incorporate into my repertoire.
